Go Build Club - truly inclusive
Hi, I'm Amanda, I run Go Build Club
I have several years of experience running Lego clubs and events, and I'm deeply passionate about creating safe, inclusive activities for all children, particularly those who are neurodivergent or disabled. As someone who is autistic/ADHD myself and has children with similar experiences, I understand the hurdles of participating in activities that may not cater to our needs.
Go Build Club is specifically designed for neurodivergent children while warmly welcoming all children.
I've developed an environment with low lighting and carpeted areas to foster a calmer atmosphere. The quiet room offers a space to take a break, either by taking some Lego along or simply unwinding.
Feel free to come and go as you please—step outside for some fresh air or a quick run around if you need a zoom break. And if you're uncertain if our club is the right fit for you, no worries— no need to pay on the door. Come on in and get settled, if you find it suits you, you can settle up later in the session or on your way out.
I believe in offering a pressure-free environment with optional challenges—whether you want to join in or pursue your own creations. There's an abundance of Lego and Duplo available, so sharing isn't necessary. Collaboration and cooperation are always invited but never demanded. Challenges and themes are always available, but you're welcome to explore your own creativity in your own way.
Lastly, if 'please' and 'thank you' pose challenges for your child, that's perfectly okay. Witnessing their enjoyment with the LEGO is more than enough for me! I'm here to ensure everyone feels welcome, comfortable and valued.
